Gurudevi says, the longer you know what to do (should do, need to do - to change something) and don’t do it, the harder it is to do (what you knew all along you needed to do).

Then theory solidifies, leading to lethargy & apathy. Nothing changes and where you are is where you stay. Of course evolution will ultimately happen as we are return to the Light.

But why take countless lifetimes and forever to move forward & be discerning? When you can be so as soon as you decide to do what needs to be done!
