Paradise Lost
No one can play watchful vanguard to an errant heart. The heart chooses whom and how to love - wisely or otherwise. We are left doing the best we can under the circumstances our hearts dictate. Or we are bereft.

18: sacred heart of mine
Spent the day in anticipation of certain conversations. But the certainty of my expectations proved utterly disappointing when these conversations finally transpired. How did I contribute to their outcome?
Prior to the event, I believe I had a clear idea of how the conversation would go. But as soon as it starts ~ depending on what is being said, how I hear it and my listening attitude ~ it can go in many different directions.
What is uttered? How is it expressed? intention? motivation? expectation?
What about my role in it? How am I listening? What do I hear? Where am I at?
All too often the clarity and prepared dialogue are lost in the fray. And I am left thrashing around, drowning in some sorrowful mystery, immersed in my iniquities ~ God deliver me!
